The Defence Science Special programme will be soliciting research papers from all 2012 Year 4 DS members on 2012 Term 2 Week 2. Both Hard & Softcopies must be submitted.
All submissions must meet the following criterias:
Maximum Length
Completed research papers must not exceed 25 single-spaced pages. The page limit includes all text, figures, and tables, but does not include the cover page, abstract, keywords,references and appendix.
File formats
Only Word file formats will be accepted. All submissions must be formatted for A4 paper and have 1 inch margins all around. Please use Times New Roman 12-point font with single spacing for the body of the paper. The first page of the manuscript should have a title, names of group members, total word count of the submission, and an abstract of 500 words or less.
Your report should include the following sections: Sections
1) Cover Page(Title, Name and class of group members)
2) AbstractObjective of research is clearly identifiedMethodology of research is briefly statedObservations/results are summariedConclusion /implication of findings are included
3) IntroductionObjective of research is clearly identified and statedBackground information provided relates to the research area with proper in-text citation
4) Literature ReviewSummary of readingsWhy is it relevant to your study?
5) MethodologyDescription of Methods / algorithm is clear and in depthAppropriate graphics are included to illustrate Methods/algorithm where necessaryFinal system design must be logical or final code must function as specified
6) AnalysisObservations/Results are clearly summarizedObservations/Results are displayed using appropriate charts/graphs /screenshots/program code
7) Conclusion/RecommendationsResults are critically analysed and discussedAppropriate conclusion is drawn from the results obtainedFurther possible system design improvements are suggested and described brieflyConclusion relates well to research objective
